Ted Mattison, known as Ranger Ted, is a Certified California Naturalist through the University of California, Davis. He's trained in Wilderness First Aid by N.O.L.S. Originally, from Minneapolis, MN, he received his B.A. in East Asian Studies and Political Science from Oberlin College. He received his Master's in Education from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN. He's been a social studies teacher in New Jersey, Minnesota and California. He's explored, hiked, paddled much of North America from the BWCAW of Minnesota to Denali in Alaska; from the Cascades of Washington to the redwood forests and deserts of California. He's a professional actor, award winning director, carpenter, husband and father. He lives in Huntington Beach, CA with is wife and two daughters. His podcast, Wonder Outside is available on all platforms.
